Pia Wood is an Assistant Corporation Counsel in the Juvenile Delinquency Unit of the Family Court Division of the New York City Law Department. In prosecuting juvenile delinquency matters, she has been assigned felony and misdemeanor cases. Over the past two years she has served as the Chairperson for the Community Partnerships and Engagement Committee for the Family Court Division. In that role, Pia brings members of the committee together to strengthen community partnerships, and also to inform the communities in New York City about the juvenile justice system. Prior to working in the Family Court Division, Pia worked in the Contracts and Real Estate Division of the New York City Law Department. She also worked for the Philadelphia Law Department as an Assistant City Solicitor in the Claims Unit and the Bonds and Contracts Unit. She attended and graduated from New York University Law School. Upon graduation, she clerked for Judge Frederica Massiah-Jackson in the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas. Pia was born and raised in Harlem, New York, attended the Bronx High School of Science, and graduated from the City College of New York with a B.A. and M.A. in English Literature. She lives with her family in Brooklyn, N.Y.

We aim to partner with stakeholders so that together we may effect change. The Community Service Committee is responsible for bridging the gap between the public and ABWA members through programs designed to give back to our community. The Community Service Committee has organized many programs, such as a Holiday Clothing Drive and Mixer, as well as a Legal Workshop, with Bottomless Closet, Alliance for Lupus Research (ALR) walk and fundraiser, food preparation with the Bowery Mission, a Suits and Separates Clothing Drive to benefit Dress for Success, and a Career Day for middle school students at P.S. 183. ABWA Community Service Committee members are excited to continue existing relationships while developing new ones in our community as we strive to fulfill ABWA’s mission of “Lifting as we Rise.”

Ivie Guobadia Serioux

Associate, Littler Mendelson, NY

Ivie Guobadia Serioux is an associate at Littler Mendelson in New York. She represents employers in all aspects of employment litigation in State and Federal courts involving discrimination and retaliation claims. Additionally, Ivie’s practice focuses on emerging issues in Title IX compliance and litigation as well as traditional labor arbitration and grievances. She has an ongoing secondment with a university in New York where she handles discrimination and bias investigations. Ivie has successfully argued before the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and was selected as a 2019 Rising Star for the New York Metro Super Lawyers as well as The National Black Lawyers Top 40 Under 40.

Legislative Committee is responsible for monitoring legislation and public policy of interest that affects the African American community, women, and the legal profession. The Committee is responsible for advocacy before local and state governmental bodies on issues of interest to our membership. Special emphasis is given to the need to promote greater diversity in the judiciary. The Committee is also responsible for developing ties to local legislators and political leaders and keeping them informed of ABWA’s activities and viewpoints.

Attorney, Corporation Counsel

Leneer Hutchinson is an attorney in the Office of Corporation Counsel within the New York City Law Department, where she evaluates claims made against the City and works to resolve them in an equitable manner. Prior to joining the Law Department, Ms. Hutchinson was a Staff Attorney at Urban Justice Center where she litigated various residential housing-related matters in multiple jurisdictions on behalf of the underserved public. She maintains a deep passion for serving our City’s most vulnerable communities. While currently serving as Vice President of the Association of Black Women Attorneys, Leneer helps develop and implement the organization’s long-term strategy which prioritizes identifying professional opportunities for members, public interest efforts for communities in need, organizational fundraising, and member engagement. She also previously served as a co-chair of the judicial and legislative and scholarship committees.

Doralyn De Dios is an Assistant District Attorney at the Kings County District Attorney’s Office. Ms. De Dios earned her J.D. in 2016 from New York Law School and her B.S. from St. John’s University, in 2013. She is admitted to the New York State Bar. In addition to being an ABWA board member Ms. De Dios is the President-elect of the Dominican Bar Association. Doralyn was born in the Bronx and raised both in Jersey City, NJ and in the Dominican Republic. Ms. De Dios enjoys reading books, exercising, traveling and dancing.
